We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Service Development Manager with expertise in Process Safety and Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX) regulations. This role is instrumental in driving the growth of our business by identifying and securing new opportunities, fostering relationships with clients, and ensuring our services align with industry safety and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of process safety and ATEX compliance with strategic business acumen to position our organisation as a trusted partner in this specialised field. Duties and responsibilities: * Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy focused on process safety and ATEX compliance. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, projects, and market expansions. * Be a commercial focal point within our experienced Plant safety team * Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities in the process safety and ATEX sectors in the UK & the Nordics * Collaborate with other TUV SUD subsidiaries to promote plant safety services. * Develop and present tailored proposals, pitches, and bids to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their safety challenges and compliance needs. * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention. * Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical and regulatory guidance on process safety and ATEX compliance. * Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for clients and the organisation. * Serve as the main point of contact for clients, resolving issues and addressing concerns promptly. * Stay up to date on process safety standards, ATEX regulations, and related industry developments. * Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet regulatory and operational requirements. * Provide insights and training to clients and internal teams on process safety and ATEX compliance. * Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success of business development efforts. * Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations. * Track competitor activities and industry developments to inform strategic planning. * Work closely with Machinery, GES, operations, and quality assurance teams to align business development goals with service delivery. * Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and materials that highlight our process safety and ATEX expertise. Essential Criteria: * Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field. * Proven track record & experience in business development, with a focus on process safety and ATEX compliance. * Strong understanding of process safety standards (e.g., IEC 61511 lifecycle, HAZOP, LOPA studies etc) and ATEX regulations (e.g., Directive 2014/34/EU Equipment Directive, EPSR, 99/92/EC Workplace Directive, DSEAR). * Strong technical knowledge of process safety management and ATEX-related services. * Excellent relationship-building and client management skills. * Demonstrated ability to create and execute successful business development strategies. * Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Experience working with industrial sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
