Job Title: Plater Location: Loughborough Salary: £16-17.50 per hour Hours per week: 38 hours Monday to Friday Company Overview: We are a leading generator specialist offering solutions, maintenance, sales, and hire services across the UK. Due to significant growth, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Steel Plater to join our team. Key Responsibilities: * Cut, shape, and assemble steel plate components with precision. * Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications. * Utilize fabrication machines, including grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters, to process materials. * Conduct visual inspections to ensure all work meets quality standards and aligns with technical drawings. * Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. * Participate in the development of templates and jigs for repetitive tasks to ensure consistent quality. * Be flexible to respond to emergency situations and unplanned repairs outside of normal working hours, including on-call duties and potential night shifts. Qualifications and Skills: * Minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. * Proficiency in using fabrication equipment such as drilling machines, rolling machines, and guillotines. * Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Competence in using hand and power tools safely and effectively. * Experience working with steel metals and familiarity with various fabrication methods. * Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and prolonged periods of standing. Additional Information: * Working Hours: Full-time position, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. * Compensation: £16.00-£17.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. * Benefits: Company pension scheme, free on-site parking.
