We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented School Administrator to join one of our workforce partner schools in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the smooth running of a school that champions the potential of every student. As a School Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring both staff and students have the administrative support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

As a School Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • General Administrative Support : Managing and maintaining effective office systems, including filing, document management, and record-keeping.
  • Student Records : Overseeing the accurate entry, management, and updating of student data (e.g., attendance, enrolments, academic records).
  • Communication : Acting as the first point of contact for parents, students, and staff, managing emails, phone calls, and correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Scheduling & Coordination : Organising meetings, appointments, and events, and supporting with school calendar management.
  • Admissions & Enrollment : Assisting with the student admissions process, liaising with prospective families, and preparing necessary paperwork for new students.
  • Health & Safety Administration : Ensuring compliance with school policies on health and safety, maintaining medical records, and liaising with the designated safeguarding lead.
  • Financial Administration : Assisting with invoicing, petty cash, and basic budget tracking, as well as supporting with purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Support for Senior Leadership : Providing administrative assistance to senior staff, including preparing reports, managing schedules, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • General Office Management : Ensuring the office environment is well-organised, efficient, and supportive of the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience : Proven experience working in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting (but not essential).
  • Strong Organizational Skills : The ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines without compromising on attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner when interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency with IT : Competency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other office software; familiarity with school management systems is advantageous.
  • Problem-Solving : The ability to think on your feet and address issues as they arise, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Discretion & Confidentiality : A high level of professionalism in handling confidential information, particularly related to students and staff.
  • Team Player : A collaborative approach, with a desire to support the wider school community and work effectively with colleagues across all levels.
