Quality Systems Specialist (Contract) - Defence IT | £30-£37.88/hr | Inside IR35 | Bristol or Milton Keynes Contract Length: 6 months (June-December 2025) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Location: Bristol (preferred) or Milton Keynes On-site Requirement: 2 days per week in Bristol Rate: £30 - £37.88 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Clearance Required: Must hold or be eligible for BPSS (SC clearance highly desirable) Start Date: End of June 2025 The Opportunity: We're seeking an experienced Quality Specialist to support a Digital Programme in the defence sector. This is a critical role embedded within a Defence IT environment, focused on ensuring quality assurance and compliance across complex digital platforms. You'll work closely with the Digital Programmes Quality Manager, supporting key certifications such as ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO20000, and ISO44001, while also contributing to internal and external audits. This role would suit a contractor with a background in aerospace, defence, or highly regulated IT environments-ideally someone who understands stakeholder management, audit cycles, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary quality contact for nonconformities and corrective actions (RCCA) Support bids and proposals with early quality involvement Conduct internal audits and support external audits Lead root cause investigations and drive continuous improvement Collaborate with engineering teams and attend gate reviews Contribute to customer and supplier quality meetings Ensure hardware/software compliance to standards Maintain quality metrics, reporting, and documentation Work within MOD standards and the wider BDUK QMS What You'll Bring: Strong experience in Quality Assurance within IT, aerospace, or defence Understanding of engineering lifecycles and digital platforms HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (Aerospace preferred) AS9100 / ISO9001 auditing certification (Lead/Internal Auditor) Familiarity with MAA regulations and MOD requirements (desirable) Strong stakeholder engagement skills Excellent data analysis and reporting skills Able to work under general direction, self-managing priorities Eligibility: UK Citizenship required (for SC Clearance) Able to obtain BPSS within 2 weeks; SC clearance is a bonus Must be able to commute to Bristol 2 days per week (non-negotiable) No visa sponsorship or relocation offered Apply Now: This is an opportunity to play a key part in the delivery of secure, high-quality defence digital programmes.
