Management Accountant - Service Charges - Property & Operations. OUR CLIENT is a successful mixed-use real estate investor and developer. As they continue their growth strategy, they have asked us to help them identify an experienced Management Accountant with experience in Real Estate and service charge accounting and who feels confident to undertake new challenges in an evolving working environment. You will be required to work closely with the Property and Operations Teams on site and other teams across the business to produce high-quality financial information for Landlord and Service Charge Budgets and accounts. THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Management Accountant - service charges include: Preparing monthly management accounts with insightful variance analysis for a designate portfolio of properties. Collaborating with the FP&A team on the monthly results. Producing and presenting quarterly variance reporting for the Operations team - with the aim to progress to monthly reporting. Performing thorough G/L reviews, including accruals and prepayments. Regularly performing Balance Sheet reconciliations. Ensuring inter-company accounts balance. Assisting Operations teams in setting the annual Service Charge budget. Contributing to and assist the FP&A team in setting the Landlord budgets. Preparing and providing financial information to the external auditors and liaising with them to prepare the year-end accounts. Supporting process improvements within the team, helping to establish proactive and efficient workflows. Identifying inefficient processes and proactively working to improve them. Providing support to off-site accounts administrators. THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Up-to-date knowledge of current service charge accounting legislation and best practices for residential and commercial properties. Experience of balance sheet reconciliations and audits. Ideally possessing full or Part-Qualification in ACCA / CIMA or similar with solid academics Minimum of 2-3 years relevant service charge property accounting experience. Good knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, as well as knowledge of best practice property management accounting software. Experience with implementing new core business platforms and running multi-entity applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to consistently produce accurate results within deadlines without the need for continued supervision. Excellent communication skills, with a customer-focused attitude and the ability to cope with high volumes and peak periods.
