Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Primary School Resourced Provision, Gorton Contract Type: Full-Time Cover People are recruiting on behalf of a Primary School About the Role: Cover People are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a well-established resourced provision at a primary school in Gorton. This provision is integrated within a mainstream primary school, and the successful candidate will be supporting students with a variety of SEN, including autism. As an SEN TA, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students with complex needs, ensuring they receive the best possible learning experience. Your responsibilities will include supporting individual pupils and small groups, assisting in the delivery of tailored education plans, and promoting inclusion within the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support for pupils with a variety of SEN, including autism. Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils to thrive. Help with the development of social, emotional, and academic skills. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to monitor and assess progress. Promote the development of positive behaviors and support students in managing their emotions. Assist with personal care and daily routines where necessary. Key Requirements: Extensive experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism, within a primary school setting. Strong understanding of SEN strategies, and the ability to implement them effectively. Resilience and a positive, flexible attitude in challenging situations. Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach. A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEN. Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), but this is not essential.
