Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and a knack for optimising transport operations? A leading UK distribution business is seeking a Transport Planner to join their centralised transport team based in Tamworth.

This is a key role responsible for planning and enhancing the performance of a nationwide multi-drop network, ensuring maximum fleet efficiency and compliance with transport regulations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Plan daily routing and resource allocation across a multi-site network
• Maximise fleet utilisation and reduce delivery costs
• Process export orders and ensure timely fulfilment
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, driver hours, and transport legislation
• Contribute to network strategy through data analysis and scenario modelling
• Provide system support and generate performance reports
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party transport providers

What We're Looking For:

• Strong knowledge of UK road network and national transport planning
• Understanding of EU driver hours and operator licensing requirements
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Ortec or Microlise is a plus
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
• Calm, logical thinker with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Full UK driving licence required
