Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hardware design projects, collaborating with software engineers to integrate firmware seamlessly.
  • Engage in new design initiatives while providing support for ongoing production efforts.
  • Conduct detailed electronic circuit designs, including simulation and design verification testing.
  • Utilise Altium Designer for PCB layout and design.
  • Select components with a focus on obsolescence, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop electronic designs that enhance the electrical, optical, and thermal performance of our LED lighting systems.
  • Prepare and present design reviews to team members and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design processes in accordance with company protocols.
  • Assist the Electronic Design Team Leader in tracking design progress and reporting to management.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology through continuous training and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hardware design experience in a relevant industry, with a solid foundation in electronic design and software/firmware skills.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in both Analogue and Digital Design, including microprocessors/microcontrollers, programmable logic, embedded firmware/software, SMPS design, and PCB design with EMC considerations.
  • Experience with schematic and PCB design, as well as simulation using Altium Designer or similar tools.
  • Firmware development experience in C.
  • Familiarity with military and avionics applications, specifically EMI/EMC specifications.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly.

Work Environment:
