Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant team at a well-respected SEND school in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and is committed to helping children reach their full potential.

About the Role:


As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:


Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils, both in and outside of the classroom.

Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes.

Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence.

Support pupils with personal care and emotional regulation when needed.

Help maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support pupils' development.

What We're Looking For:


Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential).

A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and behaviour.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of GBP62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be an interview.
