Detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and Finance Assistant to join our client s team. This role supports both financial processes and operational performance monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for weekly payroll, preparation of management accounts, providing holiday cover for sales and purchase ledger activities, and KPI monitoring and reporting. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
Process and manage weekly payroll accurately and on time
Maintain employee records, timesheets, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Liaise with HR regarding payroll changes and employee benefits
Management Accounts:
Assist in the preparation of management accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliations
Ledger Support (Holiday Cover):
Provide cover for sales and purchase ledger functions during staff absence
Process invoices, credit notes, and payments efficiently
Assist with supplier queries as needed
KPI Monitoring:
Extract data to create reports on van efficiency (on-time delivery rate, fuel efficiency) and production wastage etc.
Liaise with production and logistics teams
Experience and Personal Attributes:
Proven experience in payroll processing and accounts administration
Understanding of management accounting principles
Proficient in Excel and financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proactive approach and capable of working as part of a team
