CAD Technician

Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in Basingstoke, are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive CAD Technician / Draughtsperson to join their design and engineering team.

They specialise in high-precision components for various industries including automotive and aerospace.

CAD Technician Job Overview

• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software
• Interpret technical briefs and convert concept designs into precise drawings
• Work closely with design engineers and project managers to develop cost-effective and practical design solutions
• Assist in revising existing designs and technical documentation as required
• Maintain drawing standards and ensure documentation complies with relevant regulations and internal procedures
• Support prototype development and liaise with manufacturing teams to resolve any drawing-related issues

CAD Technician Job Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks)
• Understanding of engineering and technical drawing standards, with knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering preferred; graduates are encouraged to apply

CAD Technician Salary & Benefits

Salary - 28,000 - 34,000 (depending on experience)
