Billing Executive


The role: As a billing executive, it is our role to obtain and validate all bills on a monthly basis, and to interrogate the bills to identify supplier errors and savings for our clients. Main Duties & Responsibilities: *Obtain bills from supplier portals, emails, over the phone, and other sources. *Validate both EDI and paper bills for all suppliers and utility types, including gas, electricity, water, heat, MOP, and other commodities. *Upload PDF copy bills as required by client. *Raise billing queries with suppliers and see through to resolution. *Investigate and respond to internal and external queries. *Review and update tasks. *Spot inefficiencies with systems and processes and suggest changes or developments. *Attend meetings with clients or suppliers as required. *Prepare missing bill reports and work with suppliers to obtain missing bills, including historic bills. Person Specification: First of foremost, we are seeking someone who is driven and proactive, that comes from the Energy Industry and has experience in a similar role. Experience Required: 1-3 years of experience in consultancy or similar role working on validating a high volume of EDI and paper utility bills. Essential: *Strong Knowledge of the energy industry *A good understanding of energy billing *Intermediate knowledge of excel, such as pivot tables, lookups, concatenate * Microsoft Outlook * Basic Excel (filtering, sums, using Excel to calculate) * Data entry * Customer service * Numeracy * General admin (email, ability to speak on the phone to suppliers) Desired: *Energy brokerage/consultancy experience is desired *Advanced excel skills – Power BI Skills Required: *Proactive and think outside the box *Good presentation skills *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Excellent listening and reflective skills *Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy *Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management *Problem solving and using initiative to solve any issues *Works well under pressure *Critical thinking and problem-solving *Strategic thinking *Active listening and reflective skills *Curious *Attention to detail *Excellent communication and influencing skills *Build and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels *Flexible *Strong team player *Collaborative *Build meaningful and rewarding relationships *Seek to understand and a good listener *Emotional intelligence Education and Qualification Requirements: *A-Levels *GCSE's (English & Maths) *Bachelors Degree would be desired/advantageous Other Characteristics: *Willingness to accept other duties as assigned. *Ability to travel and to work overtime as needed. *Must be able to work with sensitive and highly confidential information.
