Childcare Solicitor Northwest Local Authority Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable Contract: 3-6-month contract This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Childcare Solicitor to play a key role in the development of legal services for a local authority based in the Northwest region. The People's Team you will join, is an enthusiastic and well-established team with the drive to provide outstanding legal support. Key Responsibilities To develop, monitor and provide efficient and effective legal services to meet the needs of the Council. To have care and conduct of a caseload of complex children's social care and children's safeguarding matters and ensure the caseload is managed in accordance with established practice guidelines. To advise on the initiating and making of other associated appropriate applications relating to this area of work. To appear on behalf of the Council as an advocate in a relevant court as appropriate on children's social care and children's safeguarding matters or any other matter.About You To succeed in this role, you will need to: Be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX in England and Wales with a current practising certificate. Have experience and/or knowledge of the children's safeguarding functions of a Local Authority Have knowledge of associated primary and secondary legislation, in particular but not limited to the Children Acts and the Children and Families Act 2014. Be able to prioritise a complex and diverse workload often to tight deadlines.
