Position: Assistant Technical Manager – Aviation/Jet Fuel – Home Based Location: Flexible – home based (UK/Europe) About the Role: Our Client, Joint Inspection Group, JIG, is one of the world’s leading international Standards & Compliance providers in the aviation fuel sector. The standards are applied at c.2750 airport, terminals and facilities around the world, including many of the world’s major airports, such that approximately 45% of the world’s aviation fuel is supplied through facilities operating to their Standards. Their vision is to continue to deliver technical excellence through its committees and membership, to remain one of the leading internationally recognised bodies and to further grow their influence globally through greater collaboration with Industry stakeholders. Who we’re looking for and why you should want to apply for this role? This is such a unique position we are not expecting someone to have done this exact role before. So here are some ideas on who might be relevant:. • Proven Technical or Engineering career within the oil industry (not necessarily aviation), wanting to try something new; OR • Past career in an Audit, Inspection or HSEQ type role within the oil sector, with experience reviewing operations against standards; OR • Operational roles within the aviation or marine fuel sector together with some leadership experience; OR • Recently qualified with a few years oil industry experience ready for a change Whatever your background, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to act in an Ambassadorial role representing not only the Company but the Industry as a whole and will bring with you the ability to present excellent written material such as Technical Documents/Reports, etc. This role is like no other you’ve likely had before, here is what you’ll get up to. In this role you will develop your aviation-fuel industry network considerably, getting to know most if not all of the important international players across the Aviation Fuel Companies, Airlines, Airports and the Equipment Manufacturers. You will attend many Forums, meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, Training Sessions, etc., around the world, helping to update or set new industry standards for the ultimate safety of every person who ever travels by plane. You will be a focal point for Member inquiries on various technical issues as well as develop close working relationships with manufacturers of aviation fuel equipment to ensure Standards accurately reflect their use and understand the emerging technologies and techniques.
