Our client, a prestigious overseas bank with a strong reputation for exceptional customer service, is seeking an Assistant Compliance Manager to join their vibrant team in the heart of the City. With 8 years of successful operation as a UK branch, the bank serves corporate, institutional, and retail clients, offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of global finance and local expertise.

This is your chance to step into a pivotal role where you ll collaborate closely with the Head of Compliance - MLRO. You ll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of responsibilities in a supportive and professional environment.

Your Role:

As the Assistant Compliance Manager, you ll play an integral part in safeguarding the bank s operations by assisting with:

  • Identifying and managing regulatory risks , including financial crime, faced by the Branch.
  • Designing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems to ensure robust compliance and effective prevention of financial crime.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of compliance systems and controls to maintain the highest standards.
  • Delivering engaging training and guidance to empower management and employees.
  • Tackling additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Compliance - MLRO.

What We re Looking For:

To excel in this role, you ll need:

  • A Bachelor s degree or higher, ideally with legal qualifications or a business-related background.
  • 8+ years experience in a compliance role within the financial sector (preferred).
  • Past 5 years in 2nd line Financial Crime role (essential)
  • Fluency in English and Chinese Mandarin (both written and verbal) would give you an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.
