Cake Decorator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and creative Cake Confectionery Shop Assistant/Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the retail sale of bread, cakes, flour confectionery, and sugar confectionery, while ensuring excellent customer service. The role also involves handling the till, managing daily sales records, and contributing to cake decoration and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Sales & Customer Service:

• Assist customers in selecting cakes, pastries, and other confectionery items.
• Operate the till for processing sales and purchases accurately.
• Handle customer queries, special requests, and complaints in a professional manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the retail area.
• Ensure all products are displayed attractively and in line with brand standards.

Cake Decoration & Presentation:

• Use artistic and crafting skills to decorate cakes according to customer specifications.
• Design and decorate cakes for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and celebrations.
• Cover cakes in icing and add finishing touches to enhance their visual appeal.
• Keep up to date with current cake decoration trends and techniques.

Sales Tracking & Shop Management:

• Maintain and update the daily sales tracker.
• Assist in stock management and ensure product availability.
• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure food hygiene standards are met.
• Support in ordering supplies and managing inventory levels.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of operating a till and handling transactions.
