Assembly Technician

PURPOSE To fulfill the customer product quality and delivery requirements by utilizing the appropriate level of skill-set and in accordance with the defined Technical Assembly Data. PRINCIPAL TASKS To read and understand Engineering Drawings / Specifications. To carry out assembly operations utilizing the approved tools / equipment, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with the Technical Assembly Data criteria. To be responsible for the quality of own work, carry out defined quality procedures and report any concerns (no matter how slight) direct to the Supervisor and/ or defined Quality personnel. To carry out defined routine and minor maintenance of defined / designated equipment including excellent housekeeping within the assembly department. To be proactive in continuous improvement ideas to enhance Safety in the environment, product Quality and Delivery and reduce Cost. Carry out the necessary training as required in order to complete the job to a high standard. Ensure that all aspects of health & safety are taken into account whilst performing day-to-day duties. To carry out any other tasks as reasonably requested and necessary, which may require giving assistance to another section. NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: 1. Strong Electro / Mechanical Assembly background (solid previous experience preferred) 2. Ability to perform: a) electrical wiring and termination b) electrical testing and fault finding c) vacuum leak testing / pressure testing 3. Comply to manufacturing instructions / Standard Opreating Procedures 4. Good Communication skills and quality driven 5. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a proactive quality & time focused production environment 6. Willingness to be flexible and undertake training to learn new skills Competitive salary package on offer
