Junior Network Engineer / Network Technician

Role Overview

As a Junior Network Engineer , you will assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving network infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers to support network operations, resolve connectivity issues, and gain exposure to cutting-edge networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues
• Supporting LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks across different environments
• Diagnosing and resolving network faults, escalating complex issues when necessary
• Assisting with network security configurations, including firewalls and VPNs
• Performing routine maintenance, updates, and system checks
• Documenting network setups, troubleshooting steps, and IT procedures
• Supporting network expansion projects and system upgrades
• Assisting end-users with connectivity issues and providing technical support

Who We Are Looking For

• A diploma or degree in Computer Networking, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs)
• Familiarity with networking hardware such as Cisco, Juniper, or HP switches and routers
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Linux networking environments is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• A willingness to learn and work towards industry certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.)
