Draughtsman

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Design Engineer / Draughtsman / to join their growing team. This role involves creating detailed engineering drawings and designs for lift shaft structures, as well as managing the drawing office to ensure smooth operation and efficient design workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and produce detailed technical drawings for lift shaft structures, ensuring designs meet project requirements.
• Oversee the drawing office, managing schedules, resources, and quality control of all drawings produced.
• Work closely with engineers and fabricators to resolve design issues and optimise solutions.
• Ensure that designs comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with other departments, including project management and fabrication teams, to ensure the timely delivery of design outputs.

Skills & Experience:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or a related field).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of structural design, particularly in steel fabrication or lift shaft structures.
• Experience in managing a team and overseeing design processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  

  Requirements:

• Previous experience in a construction-related role is advantageous.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and working at heights.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced steel erectors.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• CSCS or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Must have a driving license
