Sea Freight Import Operator

Position: Sea Freight Import Operator Location: Coggeshall Hours: Monday - Friday. 08:00-16:30 / 08:30-17:00 Salary: up to £35,000 (Dependant on experience) We are recruiting for our client, an international multi-modal freight forwarder that provides start-to-finish operations, including break bulk and project services. The company have been running for 25 years and looking to expand its sea import team. The ideal candidate will have a background in freight forwarding operations and be experienced in dealing with sea freight imports and customs clearance procedures. Your key responsibilities as a Sea Freight Import Operator: Complete start-to-finish import consignments via sea freight Create bookings from the origin Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers Ensure all import, and Cross Trade activities are completed accurately and on time Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, merchant haulage and various carriers Track and update shipment statutes in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients Completion of customs entries/clearances Ensure compliance with regulations and trade compliance lawsRequirements: Experience with end to end Sea Freight Operations Working knowledge of the International freight forwarding industry Experience with a UK based freight forwarder is required Be able to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and your wider team Have a keen attention to detail Develop trust and respect from colleagues & clients Identify problems early & respond in a timely fashion A proactive and professional persona If you are looking for a new role as a Sea Freight Import Operator and would like to join a successful, growing company we would love to hear from you.
