SEN Teaching Assistant About the Role: Teach Now is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time, temporary role is based in a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Harrow. You will play a pivotal role in supporting children with ASD, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As an ASD Specialist, you will: • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with autism. • Implement effective communication strategies and behavioral management techniques. • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes for students. • Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs and encourage active participation. • Foster a nurturing and structured environment that promotes growth and confidence. Applicants Should: • Have experience working with children with ASD, ideally within a primary school setting. • Possess strong knowledge of communication tools such as PECS or Makaton. • Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills. • Hold relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (e.g., SEN TA certification). • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
