We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C prison, exclusively for Foreign National males. We have capacity of around 500, and offer healthcare 7 days per week.

We are based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

Hours

This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts can be flexible, and we will discuss with you directly. Shift patterns are typically 07:45 - 17:00 Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 on weekends.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of GBP24,669 - GBP28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As our new Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Issue medication to patients directly from the hatch on the wing, checking ID and ensuring the correct medication is given
Ensure medication compliance, checking medication held by patients in their cells
Work alongside the wider healthcare team, liaising with colleagues (including GPs) to ensure patients receive the correct medication
Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and

Our New Pharmacy Assistant Will Have:

An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
Due to the location of the prison, a driver with their own vehicle would be highly desirable

An enthusiastic approach, with a passion for pharmacy work
