Stride Recruitment are delighted to be representing a fantastic organisation in their search for a Dementia Lead. This is a great opportunity for someone who has extensive experience working with in dementia focused environments.

Job responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to individuals within the homes who have a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of dementia.
• Assist with conducting specialised assessments and creating personalised, person-centred care plans.
• Contribute expert input in the assessment and support of individuals with dementia who are approaching end of life.
• Offer guidance on effective strategies to support residents experiencing distressed or challenging behaviours.
• Collaborate with care and nursing teams in the role of nurse practitioner to model best practices and carry out staff observations and competency assessments.
• Continuously develop and apply expertise in non-pharmacological approaches to manage symptoms of stress and distress.
• Design and deliver components of the internal dementia training pathway and collaborate with external training providers as needed.

Job requirements:

• Registered nurse with an active pin
• Previous experience in a dementia focused setting
• Experience in a management role
• Ability to deliver dementia training
• Strategic planning abilities
