Key responsibilities of the Lead Project Engineer job: * Leading and mentoring an engineering team on complex projects * Managing project timelines, deliverables, and technical standards * Driving lean processes and design-for-manufacture (DFM) best practices * Overseeing prototype development and testing * Supporting team growth and collaboration across departments Key skills / experience required for the Lead Project Engineer job: * Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience) * Strong background in design/manufacturing engineering, ideally in NPI * Experience with lean tools like PFMEA, DMAIC, and process mapping * Knowledge of optical or optomechanical systems would be beneficial Applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
