Aspire People is excited to be partnering with a well-respected secondary school in Rochdale to find a highly motivated and experienced Lead Practitioner of Maths. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding teacher to make a significant impact on the department, lead by example, and contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative and dynamic Maths curriculum. The position is set to start in September 2025.
About the Role:
As the Lead Practitioner of Maths, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are consistently met. You'll work closely with the Head of Department and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that improve student outcomes, enhance teacher practice, and foster a positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Maths teacher with a strong track record of success at KS3 and KS4
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to support and guide colleagues to improve their teaching practice
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students to develop a love of Maths
- A proactive and collaborative approach to departmental development and school improvement
About You:
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Significant experience teaching Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire others
- A passion for ensuring that every student reaches their full potential, regardless of background
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
