This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a highly regarded contractor specialising in the Water sector. Our client has recently secured Tier 1 status on the South West Water Framework for AMP8, ensuring job stability and career progression through at least 2030.
As a General Foreman, you will be part of the delivery team for a GBP70m Clean Water Treatment Plant upgrade in Dorset. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in developing and improving the delivery team while enhancing health, safety, quality, and environmental outcomes, as well as ensuring the commercial success of the project.
As General Foreman you will:

Support the Site Manager in the safe and efficient setup of sites, including the implementation of framework systems and procedures.

Proactively apply and enforce methods to maximise effective use of resources.

Assess security risks on-site and implement appropriate measures to protect assets.
-
Uphold and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.

Act as Site Safety Supervisor for the section of work under your control.

Ensure all site statutory inspections, safety reports, and compliance checks are completed accurately and on time.

Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Action Plans.

Foster open communication with site operatives and maintain a positive working relationship with the client s on-site teams.

Provide accurate reporting to support site and project management teams.

Contribute to building a strong and reputable site culture with a focus on safety, quality, and client collaboration.
Our client requires a General Foreman with:

ONC or HNC qualification in a construction discipline (desirable)
-
SMSTS qualification (Essential)
-
First Aid qualification (Essential)
-
Confined Space Training (Preferable)
-
Experience within the water sector.
-
A solid understanding of HSQE procedures and the ability to enforce them effectively.

Strong communication and organisational skills.
-
Experienced in IT Packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Salary/Benefits:
